Project Idea
I selected two visual figures — a man and a woman — to create a short, poetic AR composition, where each character is revealed through 3D presence, text, and a final symbolic unification.
This is not a game, but rather a poetic AR experience, where the user scans two images and witnesses the dance of two forces.
Technologies Used
To bring this idea to life, I used:
  • Unity — for scene creation and logic
  • Vuforia — for image tracking and AR camera integration
  • Fungus — for visual scripting, dialogue, and logic flow control
Technical Description
Invitation Sheet
Published online, in printed material, or displayed physically — it contains two images which the user scans to activate the experience.
Imported into Unity
  • Plugins used: Vuforia Engine and Fungus
  • Scene includes an ARCamera and two Image Targets (male and female)
3D Models
  • Ready-to-use animated characters were imported from Mixamo to meet the project deadline
  • Rotation scripts were added for presentation
Fungus Flowchart
  • ShowMan and ShowWoman blocks display the character text
  • FinalText appears after both have been viewed
  • Boolean variables viewedMan and viewedWoman track progress
Completion Logic
  • A custom script FinalChecker monitors whether both targets were recognized
  • When both values are true, it triggers the FinalText block
Final Output
📦 Unity Project (.zip) — for archiving and further development
📱 APK File — an installable Android AR application
🖼 PDF with Image Targets (or webpage) — used for scanning in the experience
User Instructions
Install the APK file on your Android device
Launch the application
Scan the two provided images (male and female)
Read their descriptions
After both have been scanned, the final message will appear
Hello! My name is Yuliia Chervynska,
and this is my project for the Autumn Repeat 2025 module:
Intro to Immersive Media Production.
🎯
My idea was not to create a game, but rather a poetic AR experience.
The user scans two images — one of a man and one of a woman.
Each one appears as a 3D model, accompanied by a short poetic description.

I used Unity as the main platform,
Vuforia Engine for image recognition,
and Fungus for displaying text and controlling logic through visual scripting.
🔧
I imported animated 3D models from Mixamo,
added simple rotation scripts to bring them to life,
and built the structure using Fungus Flowcharts.
💡
The Flowchart includes four blocks:
Intro — the welcome message when the scene starts,
ShowMan and ShowWoman — triggered when the images are scanned,
and FinalText — which plays only after both characters have been viewed.
🧠
I used two boolean variables: viewedMan and viewedWoman,
and created a script called FinalChecker to automatically trigger the final message
once both targets have been recognized.
📱
The final product is exported as an APK Android application.
The user can scan printed or digital versions of the two images,
and enjoy an immersive poetic journey through augmented reality.
🎬
Thank you for watching.
This was a meaningful project for me —
a way to combine technology with emotion,
and to explore how immersive tools can tell stories beyond gameplay.
